MAF integrates with Microsoft Foundry, Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, and the GitHub Copilot SDK, and ships hosting patterns for both local development and cloud deployment, including Foundry-hosted agents. Telemetry via OpenTelemetry and rich samples lower the path from prototype to production. Released by Microsoft under the MIT license, it is aimed at engineering teams standardizing agent development across languages and cloud or on-prem environments.
